Celem dyskusji będzie próba diagnozy problemów aktywizacji współczesnych przestrzeni publicznych w miastach, a następnie zaprezentowania możliwych rozwiązań, zagrożeń i prognoz. Będziemy przedstawiać odpowiedzi na pytania: jak umiejętnie projektując przestrzenie publiczne można przeciwdziałać negatywnym zjawiskom klimatycznym, wspierać spójność społeczną, poprawiać jakość życia w mieście i promować interakcje społeczne, jak odzyskać zaniedbane przestrzenie publiczne jako integracyjne, dostępne i angażujące środowiska, które zaspokajają różnorodne potrzeby i aspiracje mieszkańców. Odpowiedzi na te pytania będą stanowić zasób rekomendacji dla projektantów przestrzeni publicznych, planistów i organizacji społecznych. Naszym kluczowym zagadnieniem jest adaptacja zabytkowej przestrzeni miejskiej: wytyczne dotyczące uczynienia przestrzeni publicznych bardziej przyjaznymi i funkcjonalnymi zarówno dla turystów, jak i mieszkańców, biorąc pod uwagę elastyczne sposoby ich wykorzystania, które dostosowują się do zmian w ruchu pieszym i sposobie użytkowania
The purpose of the discussion will be an attempt to diagnose the problems of activating contemporary public spaces in cities, and then present possible solutions, threats and forecasts. We will present answers to the questions: how, by skillfully designing public spaces, one can counteract negative climate phenomena, support social cohesion, improve the quality of life in the city and promote social interaction, how to reclaim neglected public spaces as inclusive, accessible and engaging environments that meet the diverse needs and aspirations of residents. The answers to these questions will provide a resource of recommendations for designers of public spaces, planners and community organizations. Our key issue is the adaptation of historic urban space: guidelines for making public spaces more welcoming and functional for tourists and residents alike, considering flexible uses that adapt to changes in foot traffic and use
